Yesterday I forgot to mention that it is my plan to add a cross stitch chart every day for 12 days in honour of The Doctor’s 50th anniversary. Please understand though that I have a wibbly-wobbly concept of time and plan/day should be read as plan-ish/day-ish.
I originally designed these eleven Doctors to stitch as tree ornaments and it didn’t occur to me until more than halfway through the stitching of them that it would have been cool to stitch them as a clockface with a Tardis with a Question Mark as the #12. I also wish I’d thought to do the Tardis windows and Police sign in Glow-in-the-dark thread but that idea also arrived too late.
The Doctors are based on little humanoids created by cross stitch designer Jo Verso. Her books such as ‘Picture it in Cross Stitch’ and ‘World of Cross Stitch’ are a great source for ideas and suggestions on creating or personalising your own designs.
These ornaments should stitch up in a night or two if you choose a blue Aida or evenweave, slightly longer if you need to stitch the front of the Tardis.
