Here's my second entry of the day. I only met Elizabeth Sladen once and that was a charity event at the Royal Liverpool Philarmonic Hall several years ago. A lovely, lovely woman who is sadly missed by all.

TARDIS/Doctor quotes cross stitchCollapse )

So I found this a couple of days ago. I started this in 2012. There is a quote from all the Doctors, except the 12th, when he says something, I will add his quote. Even the War Doctor has a quote.

I was going to ask if anyone wanted it, but today when I was cross stitching in the daylight, I noticed that the 7th Doctor's quote is in 2 different colors(plus I left out some words out of his quote. I have no idea why).

So I thought I'd show it off.

So, I finally dug out an old unfinished project -- the Tam of Rassilon -- and finished it in a couple of days. It seems I got a tad better at knitting since I started on it, a few years back. :)

Since I found the pattern via this comm once upon a time, it seems only fitting to post the finished result here. The sharp-eyed viewer will notice that I switched the light and dark colours, since I used the dark as the main colour. I also gave the celtic knot motif a miss, so that's why you're not seeing any pics of the underside -- all that's there is a couple of stripes.
The graphite black yarn is Schachenmayr Alpaka, and the variegated yarn is something expensive with wool and silk in it. I've lost the wrappers/tags, unfortunately, but both yarns are silky soft to the touch.

Hi, crafters - I have made a massively overambitious New Who cross stitch sampler!

You can find a larger version and some detail images here at my journal.

I'm happy to send the pattern to anyone who's interested in making a version.

Hi I make custom painted shoes, right now my most popular design is Doctor Who , i have several Doctor Who design sense I am a huge fan myself :) :)

I’ve added three more ornaments to my Doctor Who tree and have a list of twenty more things that I want to stitch for the tree. It looks like it is going to be an ongoing project for a while which is OK because I am having so much fun with it.

I found a heart shaped ornament frame among in my craft room (also known as the Hellmouth) which seemed perfect for an ‘I heart heart the doctor’ design.

I heart heart the doctor

Recently I was thrilled beyond belief to find ‘Lilley’ on etsy UK who makes Jelly Baby buttons and beads from polymer clay. I ordered them immediately and they arrived in the mail yesterday. I’d been thinking of stitching them to a sampler but the moment I saw them I knew I would have to make a fake drawstring bag ornament for them. I’m going to buy some more of the beads because they make me happy and I want to attach them to more stuff.

Finally, I present the third ornament and the promised chart as a New Year’s Eve gift. Inspired by the 2012 Christmas special, here is the evil Snowman. The chart legend calls for a white DMC metallic floss for sparkle but it can be stitched in plain white or my much loved DMC glow in the dark floss. I stitched mine with Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid because I find it the easiest to use of all the metallic floss but it can be difficult to find.

Nothing says Christmas like a flying shark!

I intended to post this chart for Christmas but my computer and Crafty Tardis (or LJ) have not been playing nicely together. Hopefully the third attempt will be the one that works.

I stitched my version as a shark and carriage silhouetted against a moon and used DMC 310/black and Anchor 1302/variegated white/cream/beige. I think there are several variegated flosses that would make the ‘moon’ look like a planet. Alternatively the moon could be plain white or cream, or it could be enlarged to surround the shark and carriage and stitched in glow in the dark floss. Although I prefer the look of fractional cross stitches, I did this design in full crosses so that it can be stitched on perforated paper or plastic canvas.

I shall return on or about New Year’s Eve with another chart. Hint – think Christmas 2012.
